π³π¬ The Day Aisha Refused to Give Up
Aisha was the first daughter in a family of five.
After her father lost his job in Abuja, everything changed.
School fees became a problem.
Food became smaller.
Laughter became rare.
At 22, Aisha graduated with good grades. She believed life would get better.
But months passed.
No job.
No connections.
No helper.
Each morning she dressed well, printed CVs, and walked under the hot sun submitting applications.
“Leave your CV.”
“We will call you.”
“Do you know anybody here?”
Nobody ever called.
One evening, after another rejection, she sat outside their house and cried quietly.
“I did everything right,” she whispered. “Why is nothing working?”
Her younger brother came and sat beside her.
“Sister,” he said softly, “you always tell us never to give up. Why are you giving up now?”
Those words hit her heart.
That night, instead of crying again, Aisha made a decision.
If companies wouldn’t hire her, she would start small.
She noticed something:
Many students around her area struggled with mathematics.
The next week, she printed small flyers:
“Private Math Lessons – Affordable.”
Her first student paid very little.
But she showed up with excellence.
One student became three.
Three became ten.
Within a year, Aisha was running a small lesson center in her community.
She wasn’t working in a big office.
She wasn’t wearing a corporate suit.
But she was earning honestly.
Helping others.
Supporting her family.
And most importantly…
She had stopped waiting for permission to succeed.
π¬ Lesson
Sometimes the door you are knocking on will not open.
That does not mean you are useless.
It may mean you are meant to build your own door.
Nigeria is tough.
But your spirit must be tougher.
Don’t let rejection define you.
Let it redirect you.
Your breakthrough might be hidden inside your next bold decision.
