“A Letter to the Unbreakable Youth of Nigeria”
Dear Nigerian Youth,
I see you.
I see the graduate with certificates but no job.
I see the young entrepreneur hustling with unstable power supply.
I see the creative mind posting content with borrowed data.
I see the young professional underpaid but overworking.
I see you — even when the system acts like it doesn’t.
Being young in Nigeria is not easy.
You grew up hearing, “You are the leaders of tomorrow.”
But tomorrow keeps moving.
You were told to study hard. You did.
You were told to be patient. You are.
You were told change is coming. You’re still waiting.
And sometimes, deep inside, you ask yourself:
“How much longer?”
Let me tell you something honest.
Your frustration is valid.
Your anger is understandable.
Your exhaustion is real.
But so is your strength.
The youth of Nigeria are not lazy.
You are innovative.
You are resilient.
You are creative beyond limits.
From the busy streets of Lagos to the vibrant communities of Abuja, from students to tech founders, from artists to small business owners — you are building despite the odds.
You are coding in darkness.
You are studying during strikes.
You are starting businesses without loans.
You are surviving inflation with dignity.
That is not weakness.
That is power.
But listen carefully:
Do not let hardship turn your heart bitter.
Do not let disappointment steal your integrity.
Do not let corruption convince you that honesty is foolish.
Nigeria needs your brilliance — but it also needs your character.
Be different.
Be disciplined.
Be united.
Support each other instead of pulling each other down.
Create opportunities together.
Celebrate each other’s wins.
You may not control everything happening in this country, but you control who you become inside it.
And one day, when history is written, it will say:
“There was a generation of Nigerian youth who refused to break.”
Hold on to hope.
Hold on to your dreams.
Hold on to each other.
The story of Nigeria is still being written — and you are the ink.
With belief in you,
A voice that sees your struggle ❤️
